Swink gains recognition
Connellsville graduate and Saint Francis University senior women’s basketball player Beth Swink was named to the 2005 ESPN The Magazine Regional All-American Team on Feb. 17. The recognition makes Swink eligible for national honors.
Swink was also one of 36 student-athletes chosen to the Creamland Dairies’ third annual Collegiate Basketball Award of Excellent ‘Watch List.’ The award honors college seniors for their athletic and academic achievement and community involvement.
Swink has a 3.71 cumulative grade-point average as a biology major and has made the university’s Athletic Honor Roll in six of the last seven semesters.
On the court, Swink leads the Northeast Conference in scoring, ranking third in the nation with a per game average of 22.5 points. She is 20 points shy of reaching the 2,000-point plateau to become only the second player in school and conference history to do so.
