Pens hold line on tickets

PITTSBURGH (AP) – Season-ticket prices for Pittsburgh Penguins games will remain unchanged for the 2006-2007 season, the team announced Wednesday.

The Penguins lowered prices for the current season by an average of 11 percent, a discount that was to have taken effect before the 2004-2005 season was canceled due to the NHL labor lockout.

The best seats along the sides of the rink will remain $60 per game under full-season ticket plans and $50 behind the nets.

Half-season (21-game) ticket prices for those same seats will be $65 and $55 per game, respectively.

More than 8,500 seats will be available for $30 a game or less, including more than 2,000 at $15.

“We want our fans to know how much we appreciate their tremendous support and are pleased to announce that we once again will be offering some of the most affordable tickets in the National Hockey League,” said Dave Soltesz, vice president of sales and marketing.

Single-game ticket prices for next season were not immediately announced.
