County League to make plans for openers

With the Fayette County Base ball League’s opening day a month away, a meeting has been called to discuss additional plans for the opener. League Commissioner Dan Kupets called a meeting for 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, at Mario’s Bar and Grill on Route 21.

All managers are to being their rosters to the meeting for final review.

There will be nine teams in the league this year, playing in three divisions with a 28-game schedule looming for all members.

Division 1 will include defending champion Bud Murphy’s of Connellsville, managed by Tom Sankovich; Redd Dawgs, with Dan Palm as manager, and a newcomer to the lineup, the California Tribe, to be managed by Ryan Encapera.

Division 2 includes the Carmichaels Copperheads, with Richard Krause as manager; Mill Run, managed by Ray Orndorff, and the newly named Potter’s Clubhouse, to be managed by Dan Kupets.

Division Three includes Mario’s, managed by Lou Pasquale; Waynesburg Mudpuppies, with Scott Tedrow as manager, and Wanna B Heroes, managed by Jeff Denham.
