Volleyball Geibel girls All-State

Geibel’s Natalie Hozak was named to the 2006 PVCA Class A All-State team along with teammate Chelsey Kreinbrook.

Both were also named to the 2006 PVCA Class A State Championship All-Tournament team.

The Pennsylvania Volleyball Coaches Association voted on the all-tournament and all-state teams.

Air Force hires Calhoun

AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. (AP) – NFL assistant Troy Calhoun was hired Friday as Air Force’s football coach, returning to the academy to succeed Fisher DeBerry.

Calhoun left the Denver Broncos’ staff to join Gary Kubiak as offensive coordinator of the Houston Texans this season. He graduated from Air Force in 1989 and is the first former Falcons player to coach the team.

The 38-year-old Calhoun played quarterback at Air Force. His coaching career began with Air Force and continued at Ohio University and Wake Forest.

He joined the Broncos in 2003 as a defensive assistant and became an offense-special teams assistant in 2004.
