Russell wins first start for Redd Dawgs
In his first start of the season, Ryan Russell struck out seven en route to lead the Redd Dawgs to an easy 7-2 victory over Potter’s Clubhouse Monday in Fayette County Baseball League action. Dan Thomas drove in the first two runs in the first inning and then drove in two more in the three-run fourth on another single.
Teammate Shane Molyneaux doubled and singled while Brian Horner also doubled.
Phil Gratchic went on record with the loss. Jared Early had the hot bat for Potter’s with a triple, while Casey Kupets and Scott Hruby doubled.
The Redd Dawgs host Mill Run today at 6 p.m.
Waynesburg 6, Carmichaels 3 – J.W. Kayla went 3-for-4 with three singles and four RBIs as Waynesburg cruised to an easy Fayette County Baseball League win over visiting Carmichaels Monday.
Waynesburg’s Luke Becilla went 2-for-4 with an RBI and Anthony Belcastro finished 2-for-3. Winning pitcher Ricky Stansbury worked five innings with five strikeouts and four walks.
Gene Franks had the lone extra base hit for Carmichaels with a solo home run in the fifth inning.
Waynesburg is back in action Thursday against Potter’s Clubhouse.
Bud Murphy’s 6, Mill Run 6 – Bud Murphy’s and Mill Run played to a 6-6 tie after 13 innings of Fayette County Baseball League action.
Bud Murphy’s Alex Lefcakis ripped a solo home run in the sixth and teammate Ryan Shipley doubled twice.
Jim Warrick doubled twice for Mill Run.
Mill Run’s Jeff Kooser worked seven innings with two strikeouts and two walks, while Dale Eutsey fanned nine Mill Run batters and walked three.
