Still time to sign up for youth tournaments First off, I’d like to remind readers that the Youth Tournament at Fairbank Bowling Center is still going on.
In order to qualify for the TV show that will be taped at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, April 9.
There is still time to qualify. Youngsters wanting to participate can qualify this and Wednesday, March 29 and Wednesday, April 5 from 7-10:30 p.m. and Sunday, April 2 from 9 a.m. until noon.
Fairbank Bowling Center will host a Nine Pin Tap Sunday, March 26. The cost is $17 per squad of which $10.50 will go toward the prize money and the remaining $6.50 will go for bowling fees.
Time for the first squad is 10:30 a.m. and time for the second squad is 1 p.m. Also, squads must have league average or bowl scratch. For additional information contact the lanes at 724-245-7190.
I was informed of a change regarding the clinic to be hosted by PBA tour member Bob Learn, Jr. at Manor Lanes. It has been moved from Sunday, March 26 to Sunday, April 2.
One final reminder for readers: The Annual Scotch Doubles Tournament will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 26 at Klondike Lanes.
In PBA Tour news this week, Walter Ray Williams, Jr. will again try to tie Earl Anthony’s all-time tour record of 41 career titles. He qualified today’s championship round of the 2006 Ace Hardware Championship. It is his sixth opportunity to tie the record.
He will face 22-time winner Norm Duke in the first semifinal. Mike Scroggins will face Chris Loschetter in the other semifinal.
