Baseball Bud Murphy’s wins

Alex Lefcakis drilled a lead off home run in the fourth and Bud Murphy’s never looked back as it rolled past Redd Dawgs 5-2 in Fayette County League baseball Monday.

Scoreless through the first three innings, Lefcakis’ shot kicked off a five-run inning and that was all the runs Buds needed.

One of Bud’s runs came on a fielder’s choice and the final two runs came on Redd Dawgs’ errors.

Winning pitcher Nick Damico kept the Redd Dawgs at bay with a four-hitter, five strikeouts and three walks.

Losing pitcher Craig Conforti went the distance striking out five and allowing three walks and three earned runs.

Ryan Shetterly doubled in the first run for the Redd Dawgs in the top of the seventh.

Ace for Pramuk

Matt Pramuk of Masontown scored a hole-in-one Wednesday on the 151-yard No. 16 hole at Carmichaels Golf Course.

Pramuk used a 9-iron on his memorable shot, which was witnessed by Bill Schmidt and Bryan and Justin Goletz.
