Bud Murphy’s tops Carmichaels, 7-4 Corey Fox’s two-run single drove what proved to be the winning runs as Bud Murphy’s remained unbeaten with a 7-4 victory over visiting Carmichaels Wednesday in Fayette County Baseball League action.
Ryan Misick (1-0) earned the win in relief, working the final three innings. Misick allowed one hit, one walk and struck out two.
Steve Slatecoff suffered the loss, starting and working 4 2/3 innings. He allowed six runs on seven hits.
Bud Murphy’s Brian Sankovich had two hits, including a double. Brent Rockwell and Wes Hughes added two hits each.
For Carmichaels, Chris Buncic and Holt had a pair of hits, with Holt lacing one for a double.
Mario’s 10, Redd Dawgs 0 – Todd Dunham allowed one hit over three innings and struck out five as host Mario’s posted the shutout.
Wes Kisner followed Dunham with a pair of innings, Ryan Robowski worked the sixth and Jim Kubina finished up.
Trevor Consavage suffered the loss, starting and working five innings. He allowed eight runs on nine hits.
Mario’s Matt Rechichar had two hits, including a double, while Jason Greene and Ken Musko added a pair of singles.
Mill Run 10, Potter’s 1 – Jeremy Miller and Dennis Show went deep, as Mario’s evened its record with an easy win over Potter’s.
Miller had three hits, including a solo home run with one out in the second inning. He also doubled.
Show’s blast, a three-run shot, also came in the second inning.
Brandon Bryner and Ryan Firestone added two hits each for the winners.
Jeff Kooser was the winner, starting and working five innings. He allowed one run on five hits with four strikeouts and one walk. Travis Henry worked the final two innings.

Uniontown 10, Carmichaels 4 – Cory Borland scattered four hits over seven innings, and Jake Barnhart had three hits as host Uniontown breezed past Carmichaels.
Borland struck out four and walked just one as Uniontown improved to 2-0.
Eric Fudala, Joe Hoover, Mike Pegg and Borland added two hits each.
J.C. Meyers worked the final two innings for Uniontown.
Colonial 17, Point Marion 15 – Colonial won its opener, pounding out 19 hits over visiting Point Marion.
The teams combined for 36 hits, all but six going for singles.
David Novotney was the winner in relief, allowing 12 runs over the final five innings.
For Colonial, Tony Battaglini had four hits, including two doubles, while Joe Kulikowski had three hits, including a triple. Mike Roads tripled and singled and Nick Eadie added a double.
