Tribe rolls past Potter’s Jason Dayner knocked in five runs with a triple and two doubles, and Ryan Encapera fired a complete game as the California Tribe rode past Potter’s Clubhouse, 9-2, in Fayette County Baseball League action on Thursday.
California held a 2-0 lead when it blew the game open with a five-run fourth, highlighted by Dayner’s three-run double off the left-field fence.
That was more than enough for Encapera, who allowed two unearned runs on six hits with two walks and four strikeouts.
Matt Morich doubled and singled for the Tribe, and Ryan Kabana also doubled.
Josh King had three hits for Potter’s Clubhouse, including a double, and J.T. Thomas also doubled.
B.J. Plavi, who was knocked out in the fourth inning, took the loss.
California (2-1) is back in action today against Mario’s at Redstone Field.
Fayette American Legion
Carmichaels 9, Colonial 7 – Aaron Thompson ripped three singles, while Mitch Monas and Logan Philips added two hits apiece as Carmichaels defeated host Colonial in a Fayette American Legion baseball game.
Colonial jumped out to an early 3-0 lead through the first four innings, but Carmichaels came charging back with four runs in the top of the fifth and insurance runs in the eighth and ninth.
Ashley Menear recorded the win for Carmichaels with four innings of action. He struck out three and walked two.
At the plate, Menear also drilled a double as did teammates Philips and Chuck Gasti.
Carmichaels is back in action today at Charleroi starting at 5:30 p.m.
