Uniontown downs Colonial Joe Hoover went 3-for-4 at the plate, including a double and five RBIs as Uniontown downed Colonial 14-11 in Fayette American Legion action Friday.

If that wasn’t enough, Hoover also picked up the win on the mound with four strikeouts, five hits and three walks.

Teammate Eric Fudala doubled and singled, while Michael Pegg and Jake Barnhart doubled.

Dave Novotny went on record as the losing pitcher. He went all nine innings, allowed 11 walks and fanned six.

Uniontown (3-0) looks to make it four in a row Sunday in a doubleheader against Springdale at Hutchinson.

Fayette County League

Matt Chalfant ripped a home run en route to an easy Fayette County League victory over visiting California Friday.

Chalfant also drove in two runs as did teammate Shane Busti.

Chris Brunson hurled a two-hitter, striking out three and allowing just one walk, while Larry Christinis took the loss. He struck out three and walked one in five innings of work.
