Seth Rockwell and David Bobish each shot a 1-over-par 36 to help lead Uniontown over Southmoreland in a Division I, Section 2 boys golf match at Duck Hollow Golf Club on Thursday. The host Red Raiders improve to 5-1 overall and 3-1 in the section, while the Scotties fall to 3-2 and 2-2.

Taylor Campbell’s 41 led the way for Southmoreland. Mike Cross and Jeff Crane both shot 42, Nate Hoburn was right behind with a 43 and Victor Alvarado followed with a 47.

Uniontown takes on section rival Connellsville 3 p.m. Tuesday at Pleasant Valley Country Club.

Albert Gallatin 204, Belle Vernon 216 – Jake Magerko tied for medallist honors with a 39 as Albert Gallatin used another solid, all-round performance to defeat host Belle Vernon at Willowbrook Golf Course and remain unbeaten in Division I, Section 2.

Nick Samples followed Magerko with a 40, Brett DiDominic and Tom Corazzi both shot a 41 and Carl Weber carded a 43 for the Colonials (4-0, 4-0).

Albert Gallatin’s showing so far this season has even surprised coach Bernie Wydo.

“I didn’t expect it,” Wydo said of his team’s fast start. “But we’re all playing steady. I’ve been preaching all year that if we can all stay around 40, we’ll do alright.”

The Leopards (1-5, 0-4) were led by Tyber Lustig’s 39. Nolan Russell and Brian Luzanski came up with a 40 and 41, respectively.

Jeremy Weslager’s 46 and Nick Plavchak’s 50 wrapped up Belle Vernon’s scoring.

Beth-Center 240, Carmichaels 248 – Zac Nicola’s coach accidentally back a car over his driver before Beth-Center’s Division II, Section 8 match against visiting Carmichaels.

The lack of the big club didn’t prevent the Bulldogs’ No. 1 golfer from leading B-C to victory while earning medallist honors with a 6-over-par 41 on the tough Nemacolin Country Club.

The Bulldogs improve to 3-2 overall and 2-2 in the section while the Mikes fall to 1-2 and 1-1.
