Soccer Belle Vernon downs LH

Jeff Fortuna and Mike Green found the back of the net in the first half and Belle Vernon never looked back as they defeated visiting Laurel Highlands 2-1 in boys soccer action Saturday.

Aaron Mikluscak put LH (5-6, 2-4) on the scoreboard at the 6:00 mark in the second half on an assist from Alex Russell.

Ian Connolly posted five saves for the Leopards, while Jordan Merchbaker had seven saves.

Laurel Highlands falls to 5-6 overall and 2-4 in the section.
