Hundred tops West Greene The Lady Pioneers fell behind early, and West Greene wasn’t able to recover at Monday for a 53-36 non-section loss to visiting Hundred (W.Va.) to close the 2006-07 season.

West Greene finishes with an overall record of 1-23.

The visitors added three points to the lead at the halftime break and extended the advantage to 40-23 after three quarters.

Samantha Milliken led the Lady Pioneers with 14 points. Chelsey Jones was also in double figures with 12.

Hundred’s Jordan Gorby scored a game-high 17 with Mary DeVaul finishing with 13 and Danielle Kelch adding 11.

In other local girls basketball action, California ended the season with a 60-23 road loss at Brentwood.

In boys basketball games, Hundred made it a sweep with a 53-36 win over West Greene, Bentworth heads into the playoffs with a 65-45 non-section win over visiting Mapletown and South Park defeated Southmoreland, 79-69.

The WPIAL basketball pairings meeting is scheduled for this evening with playoff action expected to begin this weekend.
