Wilson lifts Waynesburg to victory Beau Wilson had a memorable 100th start for Waynesburg, scoring a game-high 22 points to lead the Yellow Jackets to an 89-77 victory over visiting Thomas More (Ky.) Wednesday in Presidents’ Athletic Conference action.
Waynesburg led 40-24 at the half, and built a 68-38 lead with 13:20 remaining in the game.
Wilson made 8-of-12 field goals, including 4-of-8 3-pointers, plus 2-of-3 foul shot attempts for his team-high total. He grabbed three defensive rebounds and had three steals.
Tim Drakeley was also in double figures for the Yellow Jackets (4-8, 11-12) with 17 points, as was Marc Lodovico with 11. Waynesburg shot 28-of-52 from the field and 25-of-32 from the free throw line.
Four players were in double figures for the Saints (3-8, 3-21) with Matt Tierney leading the way with 15.
Women’s basketball
Thomas More (Ky.) 65, Waynesburg 53 – The Yellow Jackets trailed by seven at the half, and wasn’t able to recover for their fifth-consecutive defeat in Presidents’ Athletic Conference play.
Michaelene Jones scored a career-high 16 points for the Yellow Jackets (3-9, 8-15) with Katie Lewandowski adding 10.
