Kevin McLee playing in today’s Senior Bowl

Uniontown High School graduate and West Virginia linebacker Kevin McLee will be among the nation’s top senior NFL draft prospects playing in today’s Senior Bowl at 3 p.m. in Mobile, Ala. Over the past seven years, the Senior Bowl has featured an average of 11 first-round picks and 90 total draftees each year.

The contest has had top-five overall selections in each of the past six drafts – LaDainian Tomlinson (fifth overall in 2001), David Carr (first overall in 2002), Cadillac Williams, the NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2005 (fifth overall in 2005) and D’Brickashaw Ferguson, fourth overall in 2006.

The 2006 Senior Bowl also featured 15 players who were selected in the first round of the 2006 NFL Draft.

Two other WVU players will be featured in today’s game. Center Dan Mozes and wide receiver Brandon Myles.

The Mountaineer trio will play on the Senior Bowl’s North squad, which is being coached by Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Jon Gruden and his staff.

The South team will be coached by San Francisco 49ers coach Mike Nolan and his staff.

The game will be televised on the NFL Network.
