Basketball Stars meet at Eberly
High School basketball players from Fayette County will battle their counterparts from Westmoreland County at Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus on Friday, March 23.
Girls will play at 6 p.m. and boys will follow at 8 p.m. There will be three-point shooting and slam-dunk competitions among the participants. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students.
The teams are comprised of seniors who were nominated by their high school coaches to participate in the event.

Vulcans win, 8-6
California University of Pa. rallied with three runs in the seventh inning, and the Vulcans held on for an 8-6 non-section non-league victory Tuesday in Savannah, Ga.
Designated hitter Alex Lefcakis tied the game with a double, and pinch runner Ryan Yost later scored from second base on an infield error.
Freshman John Sklarsky picked up his first collegiate victory in relief of starter Nathan Lay. Sophomore Eric Shoemaker struck out the lone batter he face in the ninth inning to record the save.
Shortstop Dusting Woodring gave California an insurance run with a solo home run in the eighth inning.
