Engle has good trip
Albert Gallatin senior Elmer Engle enjoyed plenty of personal success during a trip to Puerto Rico to play baseball as part of a Coast to Coast All-Star team.
Engle earned three saves in three pitching appearances for a team that won three of five games in the series against All-Star teams from Puerto Rico. In his three mound appearances, according to coach Mark Madorin, Engle worked seven innings and allowed two runs, one earned, on three hits. He struck out nine and walked two of the 28 batters he faced.
Engle also contributed with his bat, as he stroked a double and scored two runs for the United States All-Star team.

Duquesne coach quits
PITTSBURGH (AP) – Duquesne women’s basketball coach Dan Durkin resigned Wednesday following a 7-20 season that included a 2-12 record in the Atlantic 10 Conference.
Durkin had a 176-217 record in 14 seasons since being hired in 1993. His teams were 30-55 the last three seasons, with the Dukes’ last winning record (16-13) coming in 2004.
Athletic director Greg Amodio said the search for a successor will begin immediately.
This is the second basketball coaching change at the Pittsburgh school in two seasons. Last year, men’s coach Danny Nee stepped down following a 3-24 season and was replaced by Ron Everhart.
