The Bud Murphy’s sluggers are at it again. The 2006 home run champions Alex Lefcakis and Brian Sankovich paced Bud’s to an easy 10-3 Fayette County Baseball League victory over Michael’s Hero’s Monday. Last year, Lefcakis and Sankovich led all County League batters in the home run department.

Lefcakis ripped a two-run homer in the sixth inning and Sankovich a solo shot in the first.

Bud’s jumped out to an early 5-0 lead through two innings, then Michael’s Hero’s put up two runs in the bottom of the third.

Sankovich led with three hits and four RBIs, while Lefcakis had two hits and two RBIs. Teammate Jeff Lander singled twice and drove in two runs.

Winning pitcher Nick Damico worked three innings with two strikeouts, two hits, two runs (both earned) and a walk.

Justin Corso went on record with the loss. He pitched six innings, allowed 10 runs (8 earned) with three strikeouts and a walk.

Corso tripled to lead Michael’s and Mark Shallenberger doubled.

Bud Murphy’s (2-0) are back in action at home Friday against Potters.
