Bud Murphy’s improves to 5-0 after sweep of Waynesburg Bud Murphy’s stayed undefeated and on top of the Fayette County Baseball League by posting a pair of wins over Waynesburg, 8-1 and 7-1, on Sunday.

In game one, Bud Murphy’s leapt out to a 4-0 lead in the second inning and never looked back, putting up two more runs in the fourth and one more each in the fifth and sixth innings, respectively. Casey Shultz tossed six innings for the victory and Elmer Engle threw one inning of relief.

Shultz and Engle got plenty of offensive support as Brian Sankovich doubled, homered and drove in a pair of runs. Jeff Lander also homered and drove in two runs for Bud Murphy’s.

Game two was pretty much a continuation of the first contest. This time, Nick Damico threw four solid innings, giving up just unearned runs on three hits, for the win.

Ryan Misick went 3-4 and Sankovich picked up two hits in three at-bats for Bud Murphy’s (5-0).

The loss dropped Waynesburg to 0-5 on the year.

Bud Murphy’s will be back in action on Sunday when they host defending champions, Carmichaels.

Mill Run 14, Potter’s Clubhouse 2 – Mill Run pounded Potter’s Clubhouse in an impressive victory on Sunday.
