LOS ANGELES (AP) – Patrick Sharp scored his second goal of the game 1:48 into overtime and Chicago beat Los Angeles, 6-5, after blowing a four-goal lead in the third period Saturday. The Blackhawks built a 5-1 lead in the second period with four goals in a 4:06 span. Martin Havlat and defenseman Andrei Zyuzin scored 15 seconds apart, and Jonathan Toews and Jason Williams scored 70 seconds apart.

Sharp, who leads the Blackhawks with 29 goals, also scored on a power play in the first period to help Chicago win for the fifth time in six games.

Kings defenseman Peter Harrold scored his first NHL goal, and Michael Cammalleri, Tom Preissing, Patrick O’Sullivan and Anze Kopitar added goals in the final 11 minutes of the third.

Devils 4, Islanders 2

NEWARK, N.J. – Zach Parise’s 25th goal snapped a third-period tie and gave the New Jersey Devils their first win of the season against the New York Islanders.

Brian Gionta stretched the lead to two goals 2:13 later for the Devils, who broke a six-game skid to New York and ended the Islanders’ season-best, six-game winning streak.

The Devils won their fourth in a row and for the sixth time in seven games. They had dropped the first five of the eight-game season series to the Islanders (0-4-1).

Martin Brodeur made 19 saves, while starting for the 21st straight time, and earned his NHL-leading 34th win. Patrik Elias and John Madden scored in the first period for New Jersey.

Josef Vasicek and Ruslan Fedotenko had goals for the Islanders, who won six in a row after a seven-game losing streak (0-6-1).

Blue Jackets 3, Canadiens 0

MONTREAL – Pascal Leclaire made 30 saves for his ninth shutout and Rick Nash and Andrew Murray scored first-period goals to lead the Columbus Blue Jackets to a win over the Montreal Canadiens.

Leclaire, a native of the Montreal suburb of Repentigny, made his first appearance at the Bell Centre a successful one as he increased his league lead in shutouts over New York’s Henrik Lundqvist, who is second with seven.

Hurricanes 6, Capitals 3

RALEIGH, N.C. – Matt Cullen scored twice and Eric Staal had the go-ahead score late in the second period to help Carolina win at home for the sixth time in seven games.

Erik Cole added a goal and an assist for the Hurricanes, who maintained their hold on the Southeast Division lead. Staal also had two assists, while recently acquired defenseman Joe Corvo scored his first goal with Carolina since coming over in a trade from Ottawa earlier this month. Andrew Ladd also scored for the Hurricanes.

Mike Green, Alexander Semin and Brooks Laich scored goals for the Capitals, who led 2-1 after the first period before the Hurricanes pushed ahead for good. Alexander Ovechkin had three assists.

Bruins 5, Lightning 3

TAMPA, Fla. – Glen Murray had two goals to lead Boston past Tampa Bay.

The Lightning, who have lost four in a row and are last in the Eastern Conference, got goals from Mathieu Darche, Michel Ouellet and Vinny Prospal.

Milan Lucic, Mark Stuart and P.J. Axelsson also scored for the Bruins, who remain sixth in the Eastern Conference. Boston finished a five-game road trip with a 4-0-1 mark.

Bruins goalie Alex Auld stopped Martin St. Louis twice on breakaways in the second.

Panthers 2, Flyers 1, OT

PHILADELPHIA – Jay Bouwmeester tied the game with 3.7 seconds left in regulation and Oli Jokinen scored the winner as Florida handed Philadelphia its 10th straight loss, matching a franchise record.

Jokinen scored from the point 3:44 into OT and he was quickly mobbed by his teammates. Bouwmeester made the goal possible with a stunner in the final seconds. The puck appeared to tick off Bouwmeester in front of the crease and past Antero Niittymaki.

The Flyers dropped to 0-8-2 in their last 10 games, matching a franchise-worst 10-game winless mark they suffered last season when they were the worst team in the NHL.

Daniel Briere scored Philadelphia’s only goal.

Rangers 4, Sabres 3

BUFFALO, N.Y. – Sean Avery scored with 5:05 remaining, lifting New York to a win over Buffalo in a game between two teams battling for playoff contention.

Avery and Brandon Dubinsky had a goal and assist each, while Jaromir Jagr and Nigel Dawes also scored for the Rangers, who moved two points ahead of the Sabres in the Eastern Conference standings.

Henrik Lundqvist made 26 saves in helping the Rangers bounce back after squandering a 5-0 lead in a 6-5 shootout loss at Montreal on Tuesday.

Buffalo’s Ales Kotalik enjoyed his second consecutive two-goal game and Jason Pominville also scored for the Sabres, who lost their third straight meeting to the Rangers.

Maple Leafs 3, Thrashers 1

TORONTO – Alex Steen and Nik Antropov had third-period goals for Toronto and Maple Leafs captain Mats Sundin also scored in what could have been his final game for Toronto.

It was the Maple Leafs’ last home game before Tuesday’s trade deadline and Sundin is expected to meet agent J.P. Barry in Ottawa on Sunday to discuss the no-movement clause in his contract that interim GM Cliff Fletcher wants him to waive.
