The Herald-Standard sports department can no longer be responsible for returning photos submitted for publication. This includes any sports-related photo, including those submitted for our Outdoors page.

Any photo submitted after March 1, 2008, becomes property of the newspaper. Please make note of this policy and be certain to submit copies of photos for publication, since we cannot guarantee their safe return.

The volume of photos with which we deal makes it impossible for us to keep track of all photos submitted, regardless of whether the photo is submitted with a return envelope.

We apologize for any inconvenience this policy may cause and we encourage all local teams and groups to continue submitted photos. We will continue publishing them.
