California, Bud Murphy’s split twinbill California’s Dan Thomas ripped a two-run home run in the first inning of a doubleheader, en route to a 2-1 win over Bud Murphy’s in Fayette County League baseball action Saturday.

Bud’s turned things around in the nightcap with a 6-1 victory.

Matt Dishong held Bud Murphy’s at bay in the first game with a two-hitter, featuring 10 strikeouts and three walks.

Ryan Miscik took the loss. He worked six innings, threw 10 strikeouts and allowed four hits.

Miscik and Brian Sankovich singled for the lone Bud Murphy hits.

In the nightcap, Jared Early, Nathan White and Robert Halfhill each doubled for Bud Murphy’s.

Tommy Darrell picked up his first win of the season as he pitched four innings. He recorded four strikeouts and allowed no walks.

Andy Galis took the loss. He also worked four innings, allowing two runs on four hits, while striking out one batter.

Early and Halfhill also singled, while Sankovich drove in two runs.

Bud Murphy’s (2-1) plays Mill Run Wednesday.
