Schleihauf’s homer leads Bud Murphy’s past Hopwood
Andy Schleihauf’s three-run homer in the bottom of the third inning spotted Bud Murphy’s to a 4-0 lead, and Ben Herrington held Hopwood scoreless through six to give Bud Murphy’s a 6-2 victory Monday in Fayette County Baseball League action. Bud Murphy’s scored single runs in the first, fourth and fifth innings. Hopwood tallied a pair of runs in the top of the seventh. Andy Schleihauf added a single to his home run with Jared Early and Rich Schleihauf both contributing two singles to the victory. Herrington went the distance for his first win of the season, allowing four hits with five strikeouts and three walks.
Shane Molyneaux had two hits for Hopwood.
Bud Murphy’s improves to 3-3 while Hopwood slips to 1-4.
