Bud’s edges Mitch’s, 4-3
Bud Murphy’s Rich Miller drove in Rich Means in the top of the seventh inning Friday night, and then shut down Mitch’s Bail Bonds in the bottom of the inning for a 4-3 Fayette County Baseball League road victory. Nick Erminio and Means both walked to open the seventh. Erminio stole third and scored on a wild throw. Miller then brought Means home with the game-winner on a two-out single. Bud Murphy’s (5-7) opened the scoring with a single run in the top of the third, only to have Mitch’s Bail Bonds counter with a pair in the bottom of the inning. The two teams matched single runs in the fifth inning.
Miller went the distance, allowing five hits while striking out one and walking six. He also went 2-for-4 with a pair of singles. Erminio was 2-for-3 and scored two runs.
Jason Britton had a double and single for Mitch’s Bail Bonds (8-6) with A.J. Kerr adding a double.
