Vulcans cruise past Lock Haven
California (Pa.) led 17-0 after one quarter and 31-0 at halftime, cruising to a 48-14 win at Lock Haven Saturday. The Vulcans’ Josh Portis threw for 274 yards and four touchdowns. Windell Brown led the Vulcans (5-2, 4-0) with 78 yards on the ground and a pair of touchdowns. Portis’ favorite target was Terrance Moore, hitting him thrice for 77 yards and two scores.
The Vulcans rolled up 494 yards of total offense and held a 10-minute advantage in time of possession. California also scored on eight of its 11 possessions.
Lock Haven (0-6, 0-4) was held to 191 yards on offense and just 35 rushing.
Ian Smith led Lock Haven with 30 yards rushing and Jarryd Burkett threw for 110 yards with a touchdown.
California remains tied for first in the PSAC-West standings and has won 17 consecutive games against PSAC West teams.
