MARKLEYSBURG — York Haven’s Jason Covert had the huge crowd on their feet driving from his 14th starting spot to win his fourth Three State Flyers Series feature event this season last Saturday night at Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex.

Ryan Montgomery won his second of the season in the Krause Electric FASTRAK Late Models with Todd Dennis earning his sixth win in the TC Race Car Parts Street Stocks.

Marty Spade, Jr. won the Ft. Necessity Garage Charger main and Steve Settle claimed another win in the 4 Cylinder Roadrunners while the AMRA Modifieds had the night off.

Out first for the feature events were the Ft. Necessity Garage Chargers in their 12-lap feature.

CJ Nicola was trying to get his second win this season as he led the first eight laps. Marty Spade, Jr. past Kenny Burkholder for second on lap eight then shot past leader Nicola to lead lap nine. A caution on lap 11 turned the race into a 13 lap event with a green, white, checker finish. Burkholder gave it his all but came up short as Spade sailed to his fifth win of the season. Burkholder took second over Kyle Burkholder, Nicola, JT Baird, Justin Howell, Ed Vogel, Brad Jenkins, Bradley Nesline and Cody Colflesh. Spade and Kenny Burkholder were the two heat winners.

The Main Event of the night was up next in the 35-lap Three State Flyers Series for the American Racer Tire Super Late Models.

Mason Zeigler grabbed the lead at the drop of the green and held veteran Butch McGill at bay lap after lap. Gregg Satterlee joined them and made it a three car battle royal for the lead. As the three of them were occupied with each other, 14th starting Jason Covert wasted no time getting to the front moving into the top five on lap 12. Twice Gregg Satterlee took the lead only to have a caution come out before a lap was completed.

Steve Settle of West Leisenring won his fourth FWD 4 Cylinder Roadrunner feature of the 2011 season. Settle started third and shot into the lead at the drop of the green. Settle lead all ten laps beating out Dave Friend, Jr., Jeff Dillinger, Cindy Rhodes, Todd Detrick, Mark Gower, Allen Fortney and Ed Detrick. Rhodes won the lone heat.

Bobby Cossell led the first eight laps of the 20-lap Krause Electric FASTRAK Late Model feature. Cossell had his hand full with teenager Ryan Montgomery of Fairmont.

Montgomery finally made the winning pass on lap nine and cruised to an easy win,

The TC Race Car Parts Street Stocks finished out the night with their 15-lap feature. Bob Nelson took the lead as the start and held off advances from Joe Wrona and Jim Bendishaw, Jr., before giving up the lead to Todd Dennis. Dennis, back in his own car, took the lead on lap 10 and drove away to his division-leading sixth feature win. Nelson held onto second with Bendishaw, Ryan Newman, Bob Neratka, Jim Byers, Chris Lucy, Barry Faris, Joe Wrona and Charlie McClain rounding out the top 10. Dennis and Nelson claimed heat wins.

This Saturday there will be a six division show featuring the American Race Tire Super Late Models, Krause Electric FASTRAK Late Models, AMRA Modifieds, TC Race Car Parts Street Stocks, Ft. Necessity Garage Chargers and the FWD 4 Cylinder Roadrunners.
