Harrington, Hoover go long in Bud’s 13-4 win
Geremy Hoover belted a grand slam and Ben Harrington smacked two home runs Thursday night to lead visiting Bud Murphy’s to a 13-4 Fayette County Baseball League victory over Pasta Lorenzo.
Pasta Lorenzo (6-17) scored two runs in the bottom of the second for the early lead, but the visitors stormed back in the top of the third inning with six runs, four scoring on Geremy Hoover’s grand slam.
Bud Murphy’s extended its lead in the top of the fourth on Ben Harrington’s solo home run, and added six more runs in the top of the sixth, three scoring Harrington’s second home run.
Mike Rhodes (1-1) pitched the first four innings to earn the victory, allowing two unearned runs on four hits with three walks and four strikeouts.
Jared Early had a double and two singles for Bud Murphy’s, and Andy Schleihauf, Cole Lowman and Lou Pasquale all doubled.
Casey Kupets had a double and single for Pasta Lorenzo.
Bud Murphy’s (15-8) closes the regular season on Sunday when it hosts Dunbar at 5 p.m.
