Blue Mountain closes regular season with 5-1 victory
Chuck Gasti drove in the first three runs and scored another Monday night to lead Blue Mountain to a season-ending 5-1 victory over visiting Dunbar in Fayette County Baseball League action.
Blue Mountain closes the regular season with an 18-6 record and the top seed. Dunbar finishes with a 2-22 mark. The Copperheads await word of when their best-of-5 semifinal series will begin.
Gasti lashed an RBI double in the bottom of the first inning and smacked a two-run home run in the bottom of the third. He added a single and scored his second run in the two-run fifth inning.
Seth Krall and J.W. Kayla both doubled for Blue Mountain.
Andy Manion was two outs shy of a complete-game victory for his first win of the season. He allowed one run on two hits, striking out nine and walking three. George Taylor struck out the final two batters for his third save of the year.
Colin Roble doubled for Dunbar, and Cody Ward took the loss.
