Mitch’s edges Mill Run, 4-2
Mitch’s Bail Bonds took an early 2-0 lead and never trailed in a 4-2 victory in seven innings over Mill Run in Fayette County Baseball League action on Friday.
Mill Run improves to 4-0 with the win.
In the bottom of the first inning, Isaiah Bell grounded out to score Derek McIlvaine on a fielder’s choice, while Taylor Andrisko reached home when Zac Edmiston was struck by a pitch to give Mitch’s a 2-0 advantage.
Simeon Bell and Jim Kirker contributed runs to increase the lead to 4-0 with a single and ground out in the fourth and fifth inning, respectively
Corry Ryan kept his record perfect at 2-0, as he scattered six hits, struck out 10 batters, and walked three in seven innings of work with Mick Betler catching.
Simeon Bell had a double for Mitch’s Bail Bonds, while McIlvaine and Pat Gannon went two-for-three and two-for-two, respectively.
Kevin Bell took the loss for Mill Run with four earned runs, seven hits, five walks and three-strikeouts in five innings of work.
Dennis Show helped Mill Run’s effort with a double, as he finished two-for-four.

Uniontown 23, Colonial Three 10 (8 innings) – Uniontown rallied from a late two-run deficit to improve to 3-2 on Thursday.
Trailing 6-5 after two innings Uniontown took the lead in the top of the third when Bobby King and Tyler Dubovich scored on a Michael Bochnak double with two outs to grab a 7-6 lead.
Colonial 3 rallied and held a 10-8 advantage, heading into the top of the seventh inning.
However, Uniontown exploded with seven runs in the seventh inning and eight in eighth to clinch the win.
Aaron King earned a victory in his season debut, as he surrendered four hits for three runs with two walks and four strikeouts.
Alex Gabler recorded eight RBIs with a grand slam in the second inning and a three-run home run in the seventh.
Dubovich went 4-for-5, including a double and a three-run homer in the seventh inning for four RBIs.
Other batters with multiple hits for Uniontown included Jake Riddell (3-5, 1 RBI), Eddie Dutkewycz (5-6, 2 RBI) and Bochnak (3-6, 2 doubles, and 5 RBI).
Anthony Hanula and Adam Ross contributed doubles for Uniontown which held a a 23-17 advantage in hits.
