Hendry to have surgery

CHICAGO – Blackhawks defenseman Jordan Hendry will have surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.

Hendry was injured during Sunday’s win over Phoenix in a collision along the boards with the Coyotes’ Shane Doan. In statement released Monday, team physician Dr. Michael Terry says he anticipates a full recovery in about six months.

The 27-year-old Hendry has four goals and nine assists in 129 regular-season games over the last four seasons. He appeared in 15 playoff games last season, helping the Blackhawks win their first championship since 1961.

The news about Hendry comes on the same day Chicago acquired defenseman Chris Campoli and a conditional seventh-round draft pick from Ottawa for forward Ryan Potulny and a conditional second-rounder.
