LOS ANGELES (AP) – Jared Cunningham scored 24 points, including 15 of 20 free throws, and Oregon State edged Stanford 69-67 in the first round of the Pac-10 Conference tournament on Wednesday night, ending a five-year skid.

Devon Collier added 19 points, Ahmad Starks 15 points and Joe Burton had 14 rebounds for the ninth-seeded Beavers (11-19), who hadn’t won a tournament game since March 8, 2006, when they beat Arizona State.

Oregon State improved to 2-12 in road games with their first road win since Nov. 27 at Howard.

Jeremy Green scored 25 points and Dwight Powell and Anthony Brown added 11 each for No. 8 seed Stanford (15-16), playing a first-round tournament game for just the second time in school history.
