THE ANNUAL LAUREL HIGHLANDS BOYS BASKETBALL UNDERGRADUATE TOURNAMENT BEGINS WEDNESDAY.
The annual Laurel Highlands boys basketball undergraduate tournament begins Wednesday. Fourteen teams are untered this season, seven each in the AAAA-AAA and AA-A divisions. Big schools in the event are Albert Gallatin, Belle Vernon, Connellsville, Hempfield, Laurel Highlands, Southmoreland and Uniontown. In the small schools division are Beth-Center, Brownsville, California, Rockwood, Frazier, Connellsville JV and Laurel Highlands JV.
Wednesday’s schedule shows Belle Vernon taking on Uniontown at 6 p.m., Brownsville opposing Rockwood at 7 p.m. and Laurel Highlands meeting Southmoreland at 8 p.m. All games will be played at the LH Middle School.
STEELERS AT CONNELLSVILLE
Pittsburgh Steelers basketball team will play against the Connellsville male teachers in a charity game Thursday April 7 at the high school gym. Tickets cost $7 an the event will benefit the Connellsville Falcon Foundation. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the Connellsville female teachers will play a preliminary game at 6:15 p.m., with the featured game to follow.
