Roaring Lions go 1-2 in pool play

Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus went 1-2 in pool play Thursday on the opening day of the USCAA National Volleyball Championship in Louisville, Ky.

The Roaring Lions defeated Lindenwood-Belville, 2-0 (26-21, 25-23), and lost 2-0 to Florida College (25-10, 25-10) and Robert Morris-Springfield 25-24, 25-18).

Leah Ambrosini had eight kills in the victory, and Marney Hillen and Janelle Cooper both finished with six. Katie Sleasman finished with 18 assists and four service aces. Hillen had a team-high four digs.

In the loss to Florida College, Cooper had five kills and Ambrosini had four. Emily Kontor led with four digs.

Ambrosini had a team-high five kills against Robert Morris-Springfield, adding six digs. Sleasman distributed 11 assists, and Cooper finished with seven digs.
