Zupper runs for 383 yards, 4 TDs in Raiders’ 42-23 victory

Nick Zupper rushed for 383 yards and four touchdowns Friday night, leading Waynesburg Central to a 42-23 Interstate Conference victory at Yough.

The Raiders positioned themselves for a late-season playoff run with the win, improving to 3-3 in the conference and 3-4 overall. Waynesburg plays Mount Pleasant next week before closing against Brownsville.

Zupper was the story for the Raiders, scoring on touchdown runs of 5, 57, 80 and 60 yards.

Bo Hampson added a 4-yard touchdown pass to Greg Jones in the second quarter, and Chris Caldwell had a 1-yard scoring run in the third quarter.

The Cougars’ Tyler Donahue completed 19-of-38 pass for 251 yards and two touchdowns. Ben Sweeney caught seven passes for 179 yards and three touchdowns.
