Lady Lions remain undefeated in PSUAC play
Penn State Fayette, the Eberly Campus downed Penn State New Kensington, 3-1 Saturday to remain undefeated in PSUAC play.
The Lady Lions (15-0, PSUAC) won with set scores of 25-15, 28-26, 22-25 and 25-12. Leah Ambrosini had 19 kills and six digs as Janelle Cooper added 10 kills and six digs. Caitlyn Fidel had five blocks and Kaite Sleaseman dished out 27 assists.

Women’s volleyball
Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus 3, Penn State DuBois 0 — The third-ranked Lady Roaring Lions won their 26th straight match on Thursday night, defeating Penn State-DuBois in straight sets, 25-11, 25-13, 25-5.
Penn State Fayette (14-0, 22-0) clinched the top seed in the PSUAC tournament.
Sleasman led the way with 18 assists, three aces and six digs. Freshman Emily Konter added nine assists. Junior Leah Ambrosini was recognized before the match after setting the school’s all-time kills record on Oct. 8 against Penn State-Hazleton.
Girls cross country
Mingo Classic — Ringgold’s Kirsten McMichael finished first on her home course at Mingo Park with a time of 20:08.9.
West Greene’s Mikayla Sonneborn was the top finisher among Class AA participants, finishing fourth overall, with a time of 21:20.
There were 124 runners representing 20 schools at the race.
Girls volleyball
Jefferson-Morgan 3, Carmichaels 2 — The Lady Mikes won the second and third sets by identical 25-20 scores, but the Lady Rockets finished strong for a key Section 5-A victory. Jefferson-Morgan won the first set, 25-22, and the final two, 25-16, 15-7.
Jefferson-Morgan (7-4, 9-5) clinched a playoff berth with the victory. Carmichaels slips to 5-5.
Heidi Dains led the Lady Rockets with 17 kills and 12 service points. Kaitlyn Coles and Taylor York both finished with seven service points.
California 3, West Greene 1 — The Lady Pioneers won the first set, 25-14, only to have the visiting Lady Trojans win the next three, 25-17, 25-19, 25-17, for a Section 5-A victory.
California improves to 5-5 in the section and 7-5 overall.
Autumn Stinnett had 16 assists and four aces in the victory. Kelsey Taylor finished with 10 blocks. Emily Sabo had 15 digs, and Kayla Taylor finished with 11 kills.
