Weight’s extra point difference in Belle Vernon’s 27-26 win

Zach Weight’s extra point after Travis Snyder’s 19-yard touchdown pass to Jake Burritt in the third quarter was the difference Friday night as Belle Vernon defeated Trinity, 27-26, in Big Eight Conference action.

Snyder completed 14-of-23 passes for 188 yards. He also scored the Leopards’ first touchdown in the first quarter on a 1-yard run.

Trinity took a 12-7 lead in the first quarter, but Belle Vernon (2-0, 2-1) regained the advantage on Ian Dobbins’ 6-yard run in the second quarter. Trinity regained the lead, only to have Dobbins tie the game before the half on a 11-yard run.

Dobbins led Belle Vernon with 170 yards on 30 carries. Burritt caught eight passes for 134 yards.
