Greene County women’s sporting clays class a success
WAYNESBURG — The Greene County Department of Recreation recently wrapped up its first introductory sporting clays class for women. “Women’s Intro to Sporting Clays” was held from 6 to 8 p.m. every Tuesday from Aug. 9 to 23 at Hunting Hills in Dilliner.
More than 20 women signed up for the classes, which were free for women ages 15 and older. Classes covered the fundamentals of clay target shooting and were taught by certified National Sporting Clays Association Level 1 instructors Randy Coss, Roy Huffman, John Hutchinson, Chuck Mallory and Tom Pavel.
Due to the success of the first class, the Department of Recreation plans to offer a second round of classes, possibly in the spring.
The “Women’s Intro to Sporting Clays” classes were sponsored by the Greene County Commissioners, Hunting Hills and Friends of the National Rifle Association.
