Herrington leads Belmont Inn past Mill Run

Ben Herrington hit a three-run homer to lead Belmont Inn past Mill Run, 7-1, Sunday in Fayette County Baseball League action.

Herrington added a sacrifice fly to give him four RBIs and singled.

Belmont (5-2) picked up two runs in the third for a 2-0 lead. Mill Run scored one in the fourth, but a four-run fifth inning was more than enough scoring for the home team.

Jeremy Molinaro picked up the victory as he allowed one run in seven innings. Molinaro struck out three and walked one.

Nick Erminio doubled and singled for Belmont, while teammates Michael Pegg and Tyler Dillinger had two base hits.

Jim Warrick’s double produced Mill Run’s only extra-base hit. Teammate Mike White had two singles.

Bill Bendis took the loss. He had five strikeouts and four walks.

Belmont plays Mitch’s Bail Bonds Tuesday at Charleroi Veterans Memorial Field.

Mitch’s Bail Bonds 6, Dunbar 2 — Mitch’s used a four-run third for a FCBL victory.

Mike Pica earned the victory with four strikeouts and three walks. He allowed two earned runs.

Mason Heyne was 3-for-4 with a homer a double and a single for Mitch’s (5-3). Teammate Matt Sabatini had a double, two singles and an RBI.

Derek McIlvaine had the other double for MBB, while Mick Betler tripled.

Cody Ward tripled for Dunbar. Nolan Zavora struck out four and walked five in suffering the loss.

Mitch’s hosts Belmont Inn Tuesday and plays a makeup game at Mill Run on Wednesday.
