Lady Raiders’ PIAA hopes dashed

The Uniontown girls basketball season officially came to an end Wednesday night with Chartiers Valley’s 40-33 loss to Hopewell in the Class AAA semifinals.

South Park, a 66-59 winner over Blackhawk, will meet Hopewell in the WPIAL finals on Saturday at the A.J. Palumbo Center.

The victories by South Park and Hopewell mean Elizabeth-Forward and South Fayette will “piggy-back” into the PIAA playoffs.
