By Heraldstandard.Com 1 min read

California defeated Bentworth, 2-1 in nine innings, in their WPIAL Class A semifinal baseball playoff game late Monday night at Washington & Jefferson College’s Ross Memorial Park.

No other details of the game were available. The start of the game, which was the second of a doubleheader, was delayed about an hour and a half by rain.

The undefeated and second-seeded Trojans (19-0), who finished first in Section 1, advance to the championship game against top-seeded Neshannock, which defeated Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, 6-1, in the other semifinal.

The Section 3-champion Lancers (20-2) have won 18 in a row.

California and Neshannock have each won two WPIAL titles since 2001.

The Section 2-champion Bearcats wrap up their season with a 17-2 record.
