Lady Roaring Lions pick up sweep

Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus earned two wins at home Wednesday night, defeating both Penn State Beaver and Penn State Greater Allegheny, 3-0.

Penn State Fayette beat Penn State Beaver 25-9, 25-7, and 25-5, before defeating Penn State Greater Allegheny 25-9, 25-9, and 25-13.

Brownsville graduate Emily Konter led Fayette in the match against Beaver with 26 assists. Konter had 28 assists in the match against Greater Allegheny.

Connellsville graduate Leah Ambrosini had 11 kills against Beaver, and had 18 against Greater Allegheny.

Penn State Fayette’s Sam Helmantoler had 10 kills in the match against Penn State Beaver.

Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus continues undefeated in the PSUAC, and is now 16-5 overall.

Girl’s volleyball

Charleroi 3, Carmichaels 2 — The Lady Mikes rallied for a non-section win on the road, but ultimately came up short in a loss against Charleroi.

Carmichaels won the first set, 25-19, and the fourth set, 25-14, while the Lady Cougars won 25-13, 25-21, and 19-17.

Katie Mays had four kills for the Lady Mikes. Teammates Lindsay Scott and Emily Lewis each had two blocks.

Rachel Hathaway had 23 service points for Carmichaels, while Hannah Cutwright had 25 digs.

Carmichaels (4-8) hosts Mapletown today.
