Smith, Dice work hard in Colonials’ loss at Derry

By Heraldstandard.Com 2 min read

Collin Smith and Brandon Dice were each responsible for two of the Colonials’ four touchdowns in Friday night’s non-conference game at Derry. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to defeat the Trojans as Derry won 33-26.

Smith scored Albert Gallatin’s first touchdown in the first quarter on a 99-yard kick-off return after Josh Wannamaker’s first touchdown.

Wannamaker scored all five of Derry’s touchdowns.

The Colonials’ Richie Ohler tied up the score in the fourth quarter with the extra-point kick after Dice scored on a 25-yard pass.

Derry’s Wannamaker scored on a 21-yard run with just 26 seconds left in the game, and Tyler Matusak’s extra-point kick to win the game.

Albert Gallatin hosts Uniontown next Friday.
