Mustangs earn win over Connellsville
Laurel Highlands earned a Division I, Section 2 victory at Pleasant Valley Country Club, Monday, defeating Connellsville 208-217.
Harison Laskey, Brandon Yuhaniak and Jeremey Guzy each shot a 41 for the Mustangs.
Colton Miller shot a 43 for the Falcons.
Laurel Highlands is now 10-0 in section and 13-0 overall, while Connellsville slips to 2-7 and 2-10.
Beth-Center 233, Geibel Catholic 250 — Beth-Center won a non-section match at Pleasant Valley Country Club.
Evan Smith shot a 44 for the Bulldogs.
Geibel Catholic’s Ryan Robson shot a 1-under 36, while teammate Ibrahim Shaktih shot an even-37.
The Gators (3-6) travel to Greensburg Country Club today, in hopes of defeating Jeannette.
Girls volleyball
Brownsville 3, Belle Vernon 0 — The Lady Falcons won a non-section match at home, defeating Belle Vernon.
Maris Seto led Brownsville with 20 assists. Teammate Whitney Ptak had 14 kills, while Asya Settles had 14 service points, seven aces and seven kills.
Brownsville (4-0, 7-1) travels to Uniontown today.
Serra Catholic 3, Geibel Catholic 1 — The Lady Gators earned one win at Serra Catholic, but it wasn’t enough to earn them the non-section win.
Emily Constantino had 11 kills for Geibel Catholic. Haley Solan had 18 assists and Peyton McIntyre had 16 digs.
The Lady Gators (4-2, 4-3) host Frazier Thursday.
Girls golf
Mount Pleasant 227, Southmoreland 234 — Mount Pleasant won a Section 1-AA match at Timber Ridge Golf Course, defeating Southmoreland.
Mount Pleasant’s danielle Brnilovich shot a 51.
Kelsey Shirer shot a team-low 53 for Southmoreland.
Girls tennis
Mount Pleasant 3, Brownsville 2 — Mount Pleasant swept the singles in Monday’s match at home.
April Bradley took No. 1 singles, winning 6-2, 6-4. Teammate Taylor Bradley won No. 2, while Paige Hertzog took No. 3.
The Lady Falcons earned their two wins by taking both the No. 1 and 2 doubles. Peyton Ferguson and Sari Yuhas took No. 1, while Angie Becker and Mackenzie Swords earned the No. 2 spot.
Brownsville (5-3, 7-3) hosts Greensburg Central Catholic today.
