Uniontown track squads cruise past Yough in Section 2-AAA action
The Uniontown boys and girls track & field teams had their way Tuesday afternoon in a Section 2-AAA meet against Yough as the Red Raiders (112-29) and Lady Raiders (92-49) both won easily.
The girls won all but two events from the Lady Cougars, sweeping the relays.
Micah Martin (100 high hurdles, 17.5), Danasha Harris (100, 13.3), Julie Gerber (1,600, 5:41), Cilena Francis (300 intermediate hurdles), Jade Bellotti (800, 2:35), Hannah Wagner (200, 27.6), Julie Friend (3,200, 11:41), Sara Brown (long jump, 15-10½), Nicole Bell (triple jump, 32-½; high jump, 5-0), Alexis Rider (shot put, 31-8), and Tori Campbell (javelin, 105-5) all had first-place finishes.
Yough fared a little better against the boys, but the Red Raiders had first-place finishes from Nate Edenfield (1,600, 4:49; 800, 2:13), Doug Lewis (200, 23.8), Brady Guthrie (3,200, 10:35), Hunter Phelan (long jump, 20-9½), Bru Martin (triple jump, 41-7), and Jon Hager (discus, 133-0; shot put, 43-11).
Both teams remain undefeated.
