Laurel Highlands lost a non-section game, 45-42, on Saturday afternoon at home to visiting Penn Trafford.

The Warriors took the lead at the beginning of the first quarter, before Laurel Highlands took the lead and held it through the third.

The Mustangs went two for 10 at the foul line in the fourth quarter, causing them the game.

Penn Trafford’s Sean Stinelli scored 15 points in the win.

Tom Byers scored a team-high 12 points for the Mustangs, while teammate Nick Yuhas was close behind with 11.

Laurel Highlands (2-5) plays Monday afternoon at Latrobe in non-section play.

Albert Gallatin lost a Section 1-AAAA game, 57-47, at Kiski on Friday.

Mike Simmons led scoring for Kiski with 24 points, while teammate Joe Brungo scored 16.

Nick Groover scored a team-high 21 points for Albert Gallatin, while Josh Zidek followed with 10.

Albert Gallatin (2-4, 0-3) plays Dec. 27 and 28 in the Laurel Highlands Christmas Tournament.

Rece Henneman scored over half of Jefferson-Morgan’s points in the Rockets’ win at Beth-Center on Friday in Section 5-AA play. The Bulldogs lost 47-43.

Henneman scored a game-high 25 points for the Rockets.

Ryan Beyer and Brady McDonnell scored 14 points each for Beth-Center.

Jefferson-Morgan (3-5, 1-2) and Beth-Center (2-4, 1-2) will both play in the Carmichaels King Coal Lions Tournament on Dec. 26.

Girls basketball

Geibel Catholic defeated Sto-Rox, 34-31, in non-section play on Saturday.

Karly Judy scored 18 points in the Lady Gators’ victory.

Treonia Lowe led scoring for Sto-Rox with nine points.

Geibel Catholic (3-2) hosts the Geibel Catholic Christmas Tournament on Dec. 27.

Carmichaels lost a non-section game at home on Friday, 64-33, to Charleroi.

Mia Wortovich scored a game-high 19 points for Charleroi.

Teammate Rachel Ritzer scored 15, while Angie Tilghman scored 10.

Amanda Brown scored 12 points for the Lady Mikes.

Carmichaels (2-5) hosts the Carmichaels King Coal Lions Tournament on Dec. 26.
