Red Raiders rally for 71-67 victory
The Uniontown boys overcame a 16-0 deficit in the first quarter to rally past Gateway, 71-67, Monday night for a non-section road victory.
The Red Raiders (9-0) pulled ahead in the second quarter and led 40-36 at the halftime break. The visitors extended it lead after three quarters, 54-44, and then held off a late surge by the Gators.
Gateway finished the game with a 23-17 advantage in the fourth quarter.
The Red Raiders’ Jordan Pratt poured in a game-high 25 points. Joe Campbell scored 17, and Xavier and Lyric Ellis both finished with 11 points.
Tom Kromka and Delvin Randall shared scoring honors for Gateway (5-2) with 13 points apiece. Shamari Thomas added 10.

The Pioneers led throughout the non-section game Monday night, as West Greene handled Hundred (W.Va.), 67-56, for a road victory.
West Greene (3-4) led 12-8, 31-26 and 47-35 at the quarter breaks.
Craig Weaver had a double-double for the Pioneers with 17 rebounds and 19 rebounds. Ben Carlisle added 16.
Hundred’s Holdon Moore scored a game-high 29 points. Andrew King and Greg Stewart both contributed 10 points each.
West Greene plays Sunday at 5 p.m. against Frazier in the championship game of the Geibel Catholic Tip-Off Tournament. Weather caused the opening round of the tournament to be pushed to Saturday, so the final day of games was rescheduled.
The host Gators play Mapletown in the consolation game at 3 p.m.
Girls basketball
The California girls shut out Yough in the second quarter Monday night, cruising to a 53-32 non-section road victory.
The Lady Trojans (5-2) led 14-8 after the first quarter, and extended their lead to 33-8 at halftime. The Lady Cougars held the advantage in the second half, 24-20.
Kylie Huffman had a triple-double for California with 11 points, 11 rebounds and 10 blocks. Tristen Conaway added a team-high 15 points.
Jada Roth and Samantha Peebles shared scoring honors for Yough with nine points apiece.
