Cassie Barber, softball
College plans: Undecided on a school, but I would like to study veterinarian medicine.
Favorite subject, teacher: Algebra II, Mrs. Burkett.
Twitter, Facebook or text messaging: Facebook.
Most memorable sports moment (so far): I was playing shortstop on my summer recreation softball team and a girl was stealing second. Morgan Faddis, my catcher, threw the runner out. I was the first person we got out on a steal. We did it again and the second girl forgot to slide, and I dropped down to tag her at second base and she flipped over my shoulder. The team never stole on us again.
Favorite food: Fruit.
Least favorite cafeteria food: Chicken patty.
Most recent book read (excluding textbooks): Of Witches and Warlocks, by Lacey Weatherford.
All-time favorite movie: Hotel for Dogs.
On my iPod: Country and hip-hop.
Most admired professional athlete: Kaila Hunt, softball player at wwAlabama.
Greatest influence on you as an athlete: My dad has the greatest influence on me as an athlete because he is one of the best ball players around. He has taught me a lot about ball, and he is the best coach I have had. He always tells me what I do right and helps me with what I do wrong. I wouldn’t be as good of a softball player and volleyball player without him.
In 10 years, I will be: I will be graduating from an exceptional college for veterinarian medicine. I will be living out my dreams of being a veterinarian.
If I were President of the United States for one day, I would: I would help the environment, such as with recycling projects within schools to teach children and young adults that we need to keep our Earth clean and not trashy.
