Mill Run outslugs Belmont Inn, 9-6
Mill Run scored at least one run in each inning Tuesday night as it rolled past visiting Belmont Inn, 9-6, in Fayette County Baseball League action.
Tyler Geary belted a triple and double for Mill Run, part of the 11-hit attack. Colvin Adey had a pair of doubles and John Malone added another in the winning attack.
In the bottom of the sixth inning with Mill Run leading by a run, Garrett Brooks belted a two-run home run for some insurance that put the game out of reach.
Anthony Speeny picked up the win, recording five strikeouts and walking six batters.
For Belmont Inn, Chaz Phillips tallied the only extra base hit with a triple.
Nick Forsythe suffered the loss, striking out four and walking four.
Carmichaels 4, Mitch’s Bail Bonds 1 — Brian Resnik picked up the victory with Joby Lapkowicz recording his first save of the season as the Copperheads held off Mitch’s Bail Bonds.
Mitch’s Bail Bonds plated one run in the bottom of the first and Resnik shut the door after that, going 6 1/3 innings before giving way to Lapkowicz to preserve the win.
Lapkowicz also helped the cause at the plate with two hits and a RBI.
Joe Monica had a double for the Copperheads and Jeremy Hoover having a two-bagger for Mitch’s Bail Bonds.
Eric Francis took the loss, going all seven innings with three strikeouts.
