Mitch’s Bail Bonds defeats Company G, 6-0

Mitch’s Bail Bonds scored two runs in its first at-bat, and starting pitcher Isaiah Bell made the lead stand for a 6-0 victory Sunday over visiting Company G in Fayette County Baseball League action.

Andy Schleihauf doubled in the first run, and came home when Matt Sabatini doubled right behind him to spot the home team to a 2-0 lead.

The combination of errors, walks and Mike Knox’s run-scoring single accounted for four runs in the fourth inning for Mitch’s Bail Bonds.

Bell kept the visitors hitters at bay, scattering three hits while striking out 10 and walking none. Knox had a pair of singles in the victory.

Robert Gondura absorbed the loss, allowing three earned runs on seven hits. He struck out one and walked four. He also had a double. Fred Heiser legged out a triple.

Mitch’s Bail Bonds improves to 9-3-1.

Belmont Inn 2, Dunbar 1 — The winning run came home on a double play attempt with the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh inning to give Belmont Inn a come-from-behind victory in Fayette County Baseball League play.

Visiting Dunbar scored in its first at-bat, but Belmont Inn (8-4) tied the game in the bottom of the fifth after Jim Cales doubled and came around to score on Cory Hoone’s single.

Elmer Engle (1-0) went the distance, scattering three hits with eight strikeouts and two walks.

Dunbar starting pitcher Jimmy Fogle had a no-hitter through four innings before giving way to Jeremy Molinaro in the sixth inning.

Fayette American Legion

Waynesburg 7, Uniontown 4 — The combination of timely hitting and a couple unearned runs led to a road victory for Waynesburg.

The visitors scored two runs in the top of the first and sixth innings, and added single runs in the second, eighth and ninth.

Colton Lippencott went the distance for the win, allowing five hits with eight strikeouts and three walks. He also had a double.

Aaron Hill and Bradley Nicholls both had a double and single for Waynesburg (10-4).

Tyler Dubovich took the loss for Uniontown. Zack Stashick had a double, and Drew DeBerry had a pair of singles for the home team.
