Lady Falcons upend Southmoreland 3-0

After a scoreless first half, Connellsville broke the non-section match against Southmoreland with three second-half goals for a 3-0 victory Tuesday night in Connellsville.

Angie Bloom broke the tie at 33:17 of the second half when she slipped a penalty kick past Southmoreland goalie Emily Burkhart.

Ashton Grimm gathered in a pass from her younger sister Allie for the second goal at 27:50, and Kenzie Grenell finished the scoring at 13:55 off a Katie Knopsnider assist.

The Lady Falcons’ Marian Chearney stopped all four shots she faced. Burkhart made seven saves.

Connellsville (6-11-0, 1-11-0) closes the season tonight when it host Geibel Catholic. The Lady Scots go to 8-7-1 overall.
